What we Believe

1. The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired Word, the only infallible authoritative Word of God; and a complete revelation of God. (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; 1 Thess. 2:13.)

2. The Godhead

We believe there is One God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matt. 3:16-17; 28:19.)

3. The Person and Work of Christ

We believe in the deity of Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His shed blood and His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father as the believer’s High Priest and Advocate, and in His personal return. (John 1:1; Luke 1:20-35; 2 Cor. 5:21; Acts 2:22; 1 Cor. 15:3-6; Isa. 53:4-5;

1 John 1:7; 1 Cor. 3:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 John 2:1-2.)

4. The Total Depravity of Man

We believe man was originally created in the image of God, after His likeness, but that the whole human race fell in the sin of the first Adam; and therefore, because of the exceeding sinfulness of the human nature, and the total depravity of the natural man, we believe in the absolute necessity of spiritual regeneration by the Spirit of God. (Jer. 17:9; John 3:3;

Genesis 1:26-27; Rom. 8:7-8; 2 Cor. 5:17; John 1:12-13.)

5. The Eternal State

We believe in the resurrection and the judgment of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and those who are lost unto the resurrection of eternal damnation. (Dan. 12:2; Matt. 24:46 John 5:28-29; 11:25-26; Rev. 20:5-6; 12-15.)

6. Separation

We believe that all who are saved are called unto a Spirit-filled life; separated from all worldly and sinful practices. (1 John 2:15-16.)

7. The Ordinances

We believe in the baptism of the believer and the memorial

ordinance of the Lord’s Supper. (Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:38; 1 Cor. 11:23-26.)

8. Evangelism and Missions

We believe it is the obligation of the saved to witness by life and word to the truths of God’s Word and to seek to proclaim the Gospel to all mankind.

(Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 5:19-20.)

9. Salvation

We believe that our salvation is solely by the grace of God, through personal faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. This salvation was not accomplished by anything we have done.

(Rom. 3:24; 5:15; Eph. 2:8-9; Titus 3:5.)

10. The Holy Spirit

We believe in the divine personality of the Holy Spirit, that He represents the Lord Jesus Christ in His absence, and that His ministry is to guide believers and to convict of sin. (John 14:16, 26; 15:26; 16:7-14.)

11. The Unity of Believers

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ. (Eph. 3:4-6; 1 Cor. 1:10; Phil. 2:1-2.)

12. The Personality of Satan

We believe that Satan is a created being, the author of sin and the natural cause of the fall; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man; and that he shall be eternally punished in the lake of fire. (Job 1:6-7; Isa. 14:12-17; Matt. 4:2-11, 25:41; 1 Peter 5:8; Rev. 20:10.)

13. The Return of Our Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in the personal, imminent, pretribulational and premillennial appearing of the Lord Jesus for His church (John 14:1-3; 1 Cor. 15:51-57; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; 5:9-10); this being distinct from His second coming and to His reigning as King on the throne of David as prophesied and promised to Israel. (Zech. 14; Matt. 24:29-31; Rev. 19.)

14. The Believer’s Security

We believe that Jesus Christ, through the shedding of His blood on the cross of Calvary, was made a sufficient sacrifice for the whole world, and an efficacious sacrifice for those who would by faith believe. We also believe that the salvation of all believers is sealed by the Holy Spirit and that they are kept by God’s power which is so secure that nothing could separate the believer from the personal saving love of God. We further believe that it is the privilege of the believer to rejoice in the assurance of his eternal salvation.

(1 Peter 1:18-20; 2:24; Eph. 1:13; 4:30; Rom. 8:35-39; John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Rom. 8:1; 1 Cor. 1:4-8;

1 Peter 1:5.)

15. Freedom

We believe that the believer has been released from the previous covenant of law, and that while he is now free, he serves under the law of Christ. He is not to use this freedom to indulge the sinful nature, but to serve other believers in love. (Gal. 3:10-14; 4:4-6; 5:13;

Titus 2:11-15; Rom. 13:13-14.)

16. Old Nature/New Nature

We believe that every saved person possesses two natures, with provision made for victory of the new nature over the old nature through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit; and that claims to the eradication of the old nature in this life are unscriptural.

(Rom. 8:13; Gal. 5:16-25; Eph. 4:22-24; Col. 3:10; 1 Peter 1: 14-16; 1 John 3:5-9.)

17. The Gifts of the Spirit

We believe that God is sovereign in the bestowment of all His gifts and, that the specific sign gifts (i.e.: tongues, miracles, healings) gradually ceased as the New Testament was completed and its authority became established. (1 Cor. 12:4-11; 14:8-12; Eph. 4:7-12.)

18. The Church

We believe the church is the body and bride of Christ and is a spiritual organism made up of all born again believers of this present age.

(Eph. 1:22-23; 5:25-27; 1 Cor. 12:12-14; Col. 1:24-27.)
